This was such a lovely wedding to photograph. The ceremony was in a little village called Welton in Yorkshire. I’d been to visit it a few months before in the summer and It such a beautiful place. I was desperately hoping for some sun on the day. Despite a major downpour in the morning, the sun came out just in time for photos outside.
The whole day couldn’t have gone any better. Hopefully I’ll get to work in Welton again in the future.
Some words from the bride Fliss: We both love nature and woodland walks which is what inspired our woodland theme. We’re traditional but quite relaxed so we wanted a traditional church ceremony but a more laid back reception at my parents’ home.
My wedding gown was from a local boutique Deborah Moore Bridal and was from Designers Sottero & Midgley. I loved the embellishment, it felt like the perfect party dress.Local florist Louise Pepper did the flowers, she really got the woodland theme and included moss and conkers in the centrepieces and decorations to get the autumn wood feel. Louise also did the flower halos for me and the bridesmaids. She included acorns in the buttonholes.
We did a lot of the decoration ourselves, we especially loved our tree table plan. A friend made the stands for the tree table names and we collected pine cones for the place names when on holiday in Portugal earlier in the year, all 130 of them! The wedding band was The Unknown Stuntmen, fantastic group from Wakefield. All our suppliers were Yorkshire based!
